Find answers to frequently asked questions about the Insurance, shipping methods and charge.
We take great care and apply our expertise when loading your container. However, given the unpredictable nature of the open sea, we ship all containers with marine insurance.* In the rare event that in-transit damage occurs, you must provide clear photo and video evidence to demonstrate that the damage happened during transit.
Based on our experience, damage is more commonly caused during the devanning (unloading) process. To ensure the highest level of care during unloading, we strongly advise that the consignee be present and follow these steps:
1. Be present before the container doors are opened.
2. If any damage is observed, take clear photos before unloading begins.
3. Record a video of the cars being removed.
4. Capture a photo of the container door showing the container number.
5. Contact your account manager immediately.
Depending on the size of the vehicles, we can load up to 6 cars per full container, offering significant savings compared to shipping the same number via Ro/Ro (Roll-on/Roll-off).
Additionally, some ports are located in shallow waters, restricting access for Ro/Ro vessels. For inland destinations, trans-shipment or rail transport is often required, and containerized shipping provides a safer and more efficient solution for delivering vehicles to these areas.
When shipping by container, a drayage fee is applied, which covers the cost of transporting the container from the port to the loading yard and back. Drayage costs range from 150,000 JPY ~ 175,000 JPY , with a loading fee of 20,000 per vehicle.
*Rates are negotiable depending on volume.
